Meet the Team

Joseph Myers, Co-Founder
Joseph comes to us from Baton Rouge Louisiana. In college he majored in Statistics with specialized focus upon differential and integral calculus, statistical methods, mathematical modeling, and wrote his thesis on probability theory. He worked in the IT field for 21 years as a statistical analyst identifying market trends in the financial industry. Joseph is an 22 year veteran sports gambler,  buying his second home solely from the proceeds of his sports wagers and poker playing in both Atlantic City and Las Vegas. He met co-founder Jeff Funari in Las Vegas in the summer of 2000.

Jeff Funari, Co-Founder
Jeff hails from a suburb of Austin Texas, leaving home at the age of 19 and setting off in his pursuit of being a professional bowler. Within months Jeff was struck by a vehicle nearly head on while he worked in New York as a bicycle messenger, and his promising future in bowling was over. Not one to give up,  Jeff has been an entrepreneurial force in business since 1995, opening his first venture in upstate New York with a successful print media company. He’s long been a rabid sports fan and gambler. Wagering on sports became a routine practice in his late 20′s and he soon took up Poker and BlackJack.  The cards would lead him to meet his business partner Joseph Myers in Las Vegas where the two met at the tables and struck up a conversation about the pitfalls of sports wagers. That conversation turned into a relationship that extended beyond Vegas, and set the two of them off on their search to build the ultimate team of sports gamblers and outright sport savants.

Randy Morris, Lead Football
Randy is a lifelong football fan (to say the least, you should see his house – it’s awash in more football memorabilia than you could possible fathom) and has been betting football since 1992 when he was laid off of his job as a computational systems administrator with a major investment firm – when his job was outsourced. Randy then tore after his dream of being a pro sports gambler and supporting his wife and 2 children through his earnings. Randy learned the hard way – he had no choice but to find the way to win or his family would ultimately suffer (something he would not tolerate or permit to have happen). Randy studied every trend, stat, and analysis he could get his hands on – in addition to using a few sports handicapping services. He soon found he did much better on his own, however the workload of winning was demanding of his time as he worked at it almost 14 hours a day. But, with time and trial comes experience – and he soon began to recognize in all that data, what it takes to call the games. Today, Randy has put his 2 children through college (Both earning BAs in accounting) and he and his wife have recently moved into their dream home – a classic Victorian built in the 1890′s and all renovations and purchase were garnered from his sports wagering.

Rob Hartman, Lead Basketball
Rob partially majored in broadcasting in college and started wagering locally on his home team games in 1990. Sooner after, friends began to tell him he was “freakishly” accurate about not only the game’s outcome, but individual player performance. He then began expanding into Pro Basketball wagers, where he employed the same level of study to every aspect of the game – no easy feat going from picking winners from one team to all College and Pro games. He then changed his major in his sophomore year to mathematics which surprised his sports buddies who thought he had a future with major broadcast networks. Although Rob doesn’t discuss it at length he says that his BA degree helps him immensely in everything from picking winners to figuring probable odds that make for more solid bets.

Kevin Pulliphrone, Lead Baseball
Kevin lost his heart at an early age to Baseball when his father took him to Chicago Cubs game at Wrigley Field. Since that fateful day, Kevin has been a possessed individual with the game of pro Baseball. He made every attempt to play the game, doing well in his high school games as shortstop. During his senior year he was scouted by some of the top college teams in the nation, but did significant damage to his rotator cuff in an away game when he collided with another player (he shares a note with Funari here as both lost their chances at pro sport potential due to injuries).  Not to be put off the sport he so dearly loved, later that year his Uncle, (through marriage only) and professional gambler, introduced him to sports wagering. He soon took all the tenacity of his on-field play and applied it to analysis of his beloved sport. His results even astounded his Uncle when in his first year he went 128 wins and 72 losses, and grew his 1500.00 bankroll into almost 16K. Since that time Kevin has revised tactics and honed his amazing skill at picking winners in Baseball – and now has shared his Uncle’s title of pro gambler (his only income) for the past 17 years. Kevin has raised 3 children, two of which he put through Ivy league schools and his last at home offspring graduates in 2012 will be attending law school. Kevin’s profession has afforded him the ability to pass it on to his family, and currently owns and finances 2 charter deep sea fishing boats with his brother Ian.

John Depot, Lead Hockey
John is our inspiration for overcoming adversity. Born with a degenerative bone disease which led to Marfan syndrome, he’s been confined to a wheelchair since age 14. John, lives for Hockey. He wasn’t content to feel sorry for himself or be supported by the State – he discovered a natural talent for betting on Hockey. He’s stated before to us, that he only uses stats, trends and injury reports – but it’s obvious by spending an hour with him that he “feels” this sport. We’ve met very few like John. He seems to have a natural talent for picking consistent winners. Depot has a shy quiet demeanor, until you put him in front of a Maple Leafs game – then he’s a different person. Driven, a perfectionist, and deadly accurate. In 1994 John earned a doctorate in psychology, however has not pursued his doctorate career and sticks with what he does best: winning at Hockey. John has been a professional sports gambler for 15 years and is now branching into Football wagering and analysis. He supports both his Mother and Father in their later years and loves his dog “Lucky” – you’ll often find them both in front of a hockey game – whether it’s a current match-up or a classic from one of his many recorded games – which he started amassing in 1997. John is an amazing individual and we’re constantly astounded by his devotion and determination.
